27 Why Hosted Managed Service
1/1/ :29 AM Why Hosted Managed Service Better serve Small and Medium Size Business Improve IT Management Outsource support Lack of current management Provide Platform for Service Providers to enable Remote Managed Services to SMB Increase efficiency of service operations Add services to portfolio of offerings Increase effectiveness of Windows management services Traditional approach sOA – built to be delivered via the internet via the ISV This is about building software, to host and deliver to downstream clients Why? Big opportunity – large number of business 22 million world wide Less than half any management of this Soft benefits for us A managed desktop is a good one for everyone – Gartner reference Also be benefit for the customer to have a better service One efficient way for this market is to consider having some of this run by others @Value add - business, small or medium - drive business from other small business - provides them with tools to so they can do more IT service in a remote fashion - Will be sold directly to VAP providing the services, or the option is larger providers who build the capabiloty. 28 Hosted System Center Remote Managed Services
1/1/ :29 AM Scalable Easily scale to manage multiple SMB customers Out-of the box managed services functionality Secure Secure connection over the internet Remote troubleshoot without using credentials Comprehensive & Knowledge driven Must be simple – quick to install not heavy Easy to use Hosting mailboxes or CRM that talks to the monitoring tools Must be extensible Why does this sit in relation to SCE - more mature people in the EPG end - in mid market they have less servers, less IT staff or less maturity. Therefore less robust IT. Where there is an IT generalist – they may run SCE themselves. But where 24.7 support is required or need holiday, illness coverage etc. More than just monitoring Knowledge that reduces your problem resolution time Extensible Rich customizable reporting based on SLA Connectors to accounting/billing and trouble ticketing © 2006 Microsoft Corporation.
