5 Educational Background to be an Occupational Therapist

6 Educational Background to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant
Need an Associates Degree from an accredited program (2 years) and pass the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy Exam to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

7 Occupational Therapy Aides
Need a High School diploma CPR and Basic Life Support Certifications may be required Training OT aides do not need to pass an exam It is a good starting point Helps prepare treatment area, equipment, materials, patient (pushing a w/c), clerical tasks such as setting appointments, answering phones, help clients with billing information. Can not perform treatment on client!

10 Schools in Utah Occupational therapist- 3 year entry level Master's Degree in the University of Utah. Requirements are a bachelor's degree. Occupational therapy assistant- 2 year accredited program for a Associate's Degree in Salt Lake Community College. Requirements are general courses
