A Spider-Man story might have the following plot development:
Conflict: Spider-Man intervenes in the Green Goblin’s plan to attack and kill everyone attending a science fair. This event places Spider-Man and the Green Goblin in opposition.
Climax: The Green Goblin holds Mary Jane Watson (Peter Parker’s crush) and a bus full of children hostage at the top of a bridge, forcing Spider-Man to choose who he wants to save.
Resolution: Spider-Man saves both the bus full of children and Mary Jane, and the Green Goblin is killed.

Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow.
A mysterious stranger arrives at a small inn near an English village. No matter how they try, the villagers cannot determine what the stranger looks like. His body and face are completely covered; he is wearing a long coat, gloves, and bandages on his head and face. Large goggles obscure his eyes. Around this time, there is a rash of break-ins throughout the village. People are unable to catch even a glimpse of the perpetrator.

A brief retelling of The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells
The stranger spends his time alone. He creates a laboratory in his room, and the locals become worried about this reclusive character. One day, the innkeeper passes by the stranger’s room and witnesses furniture and objects moving about the room, as if by magic. Later, the innkeeper confronts the stranger who then begins to remove his bandages and goggles, revealing that he is invisible. The innkeeper runs in terror to the police, but the stranger flees to another town where he encounters a man he trusts, Dr. Kemp.

The stranger reveals that his name is Griffin. Griffin confides to Dr. Kemp that he had wanted to discover the secret of invisibility in order to become rich. However, in order to conduct his experiments he had stolen money and brought about his father’s death. To hide from the authorities, Griffin had turned himself invisible, which led him to develop a sense of invincibility. Griffin reveals his plans to terrorize and steal. Dr. Kemp, realizing that Griffin is insane, calls the police. Griffin turns mad and attacks Kemp and the officers before escaping. Griffin threatens to kill Dr. Kemp.
Griffin returns and surprises Dr. Kemp. However, Kemp keeps his cool and runs to get help. He runs down through the town. Griffin attacks
Dr. Kemp in the middle of town. A crowd forms, decides to save
Dr. Kemp, and begins to beat Griffin. Dr. Kemp tries to stop the
mob, but it is too late. Upon his death, Griffin’s beaten and
bloody body becomes visible.
