(A) Connective tissue fibers of the periodontal ligament (PDL) were observed between the root surfaces and alveolar bone. (B) The root surfaces were fused with alveolar bone. Connective tissue fibers of the periodontal ligament could not be observed on root surface. (C) Loosely organized fibers of the newly formed PDL-like tissue were observed in spaces between root surfaces and alveolar bone.
