Ever dream you’re back in school and only wearing your underwear?! If you’re like me I’m confident you take great pains to make sure you don’t do or say something that might cause embarrassment! We also need to take care that we are never spiritually embarrassed. Do you live your life in such a way as to avoid spiritual embarrassment? Embarrassing Moments

4 It was known what you were really thinking?
The thoughts and intents of our heart reveal who we really are: Matt. 15:16- 20; 5:28; 1 Jn. 3:15; Prov. 23:7 We need to make sure we’re thinking on the right things: Phil. 4:8 Pray about it! Embarrassing Moments

5 It was known what you say about others?
Words have power, therefore, be careful what you say! Jas. 1:19 Scariest passage in the Bible? Matt. 12:36-37 Gossip, backbiting, etc. are not to be named among God’s people: 1 Pet. 2:1; Eph. 4:31-32; Col. 3:8-10; 1 Tim. 3:11; Titus 2:3 We can do good or evil with our words: Jas. 3:2-12 Make sure our speech is right and good: Matt. 7:12; Eph. 4:29 Embarrassing Moments

6 It was known what goes on in your home?
Some lead a double life: public vs. private persona: Jas. 1:8; 4:8 Parents must be spiritual leaders: Eph. 5:22-25 Make sure your home is the kind of place God would have it to be. This is the greatest gift we can give our children! “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” NONSENSE! Embarrassing Moments

7 It was known what you know about the Bible?
God’s people were destroyed for lack of knowledge: Hosea 4:6 Creates a famine for God’s Word: Amos 8:11 How well do you know God’s Word? 1 Pet. 3:15; Matt. 4:4; 1 Cor. 15:34 What’s your attitude toward God’s Word: Job 23:12; Psa. 19:9-11: Jer. 15:16 How important is God’s Word to you? Note what Paul told the Corinthian brethren: 1 Cor. 16:1-2 What’s your thought process? 2 Cor. 9:5 Are you a “cheerful giver” ? 2 Cor. 9:7 Where are you “laying up treasure” ? Matt. 6:19- 21; 6:24; 1 Cor. 15:34 Make sure your giving is with heaven in view: Matt. 6:33 Embarrassing Moments

9 It was known what really defines your life?
Are you a genuine Christian? 1 Cor. 16:1-2 Or, a fake? A phony? Rom. 6:3-4 Satan doesn’t necessarily care if you lose your faith: Rom. 8:5-8 What’s your mindset? Phil. 3:17-20; Matt. 6:33; Col. 3:2-4 Embarrassing Moments

10 You meet Christ? Many “Christians” will be embarrassed when Christ comes again! He is coming again! Acts 17:31; 2 Cor. 5:10 When He comes will you be “ashamed” or “confident”? Lk. 9:26; Rom. 1:16-17 Surest sign of spiritual growth is when we lose our shame: Heb. 11:16 We must always be ready for His coming: Matt. 25:1-13; 1 Jn. 2:28 Can you imagine the terror if ashamed at His coming? It was known what you really think? It was known what you say about others? It was known what goes on in your home? It was known what you know about the Bible? It was known what percentage you give? It was known what defines your life? When Christ comes again will you be “ashamed” or “confident”? Embarrassing Moments
