2 FamilySearch Family Tree
Unique in that it is a shared tree Useful to stop duplication of efforts- 80% of our research has already been done Open edit to correct erroneous information. Sources can be attached and tagged to vital information to provide documentation. Messaging between users allows collaboration.

3 Personalized Home Page
View recent contributions and activity. Process recommended tasks. View ancestor hints, obituaries and learn more. Add items to your to-do list. See how you are related to ancestors in your activity. Quick access to your last 20 recently viewed ancestors. When you are logged in, FamilySearch offers a home page with tips and research suggestions geared to you, your preferences, and your needs.  To-do list will soon be available from every page.

4 Tip Tray

5 Delete Person Restriction
A user cannot delete a person unless they are the only contributor of that person.

6 Family Tree Standards Why are we asked to standardized?
FamilySearch uses this standardized information to generate more hints. Ron Tanner- not all places that have existed in the world are in our standards library- you have to add them.

7 Dismissible Research Suggestions
For some research suggestions you can now dismiss them with a reason:

8 View My Relationship Currently it only goes out 4 generations but eventually will go farther. FS is now using all of its computing power to allow more patrons on the site.

9 Memories “Gallery” All photos, stories, documents
and audio in one place. Features include: Easy access to albums Archive: This is a place to move items from the main view in the gallery. Actions button: Open in new window Rotate left or right Download it Add to an album Change a photo to a document

10 Help Others Feature Changes made by you will be shown as changes made
by the patron you are helping but FS will know you have made the change. In the future you will be able to invite a member of your stake from the LDS tool list. After they give permission, will will be able to see their tree for 30 days.

11 Shutdown of new.FamilySearch.org
Currently: NFS website is no longer available. Remaining data is being transferred to Family Tree and once this is completed, NFS will be shut down. Benefits of Shut Down: You will be able to merge ancestors with large numbers of records. Ability to change gender. The ability to see a spouse’s ancestral line by default. Contributions by FamilySearch will decrease.

12 Family Tree- 2016 Planned Features
Performance Improvements- cloud based that will automatically adjust to higher traffic. Ability to add sources to living people. Ability to share living people so family can work together and see the same memories. Currently memories added to living people are not private- this will change. New features that will discourage the change of good information- for example, immediate notifications, all contributors will be shown and immediate notification if anything you have added is changed. Ron Tanner- There is no reason why a living person should ever have to be researched after they are dead. Sharing of living people- families will look at the same tree and will automatically see when a change has been made to any living person.

13 WARNING There are 15 users watching this person and will be notified immediately of this change. Be sure your change is accurate and sound.

14 New in Family Tree Mobile Record Hinting
On the mobile app you can receive hints. It allows you to review it and add family members who are on the record to your tree , very similar to the source linker. You can also add reason statements.

15 New in Family Tree Mobile Descendancy Task List
See tasks that need done for ancestors descendants. These tasks now include temple opportunities but in the future will include data problems, suggestions and record hints.

16 New in Family Tree Mobile Edit, Add, and Delete Ancestor
