3 Language Overview - Saskatchewan
IRCC funded immigrant serving agencies currently offer blended, informal and formal language training to newcomers in small centres and urban areas of Saskatchewan. Language training is offered through 16 contribution agreements across Saskatchewan. This funding provides Stage 1 (Literacy to CLB-4) and Stage 2 (CLB 5 –CLB 8) learning opportunities for newcomers in the province. Language training comprises over 50% of Saskatchewan’s federal settlement funding allocation for fiscal year

4 Employment Overview - Saskatchewan
IRCC funded immigrant serving agencies provide employment related services including employment preparation, employment counseling and employer engagement in Urban and Small Centres Saskatchewan. Employment Related Services are funded through seven contribution agreements. Proposals for blended language/employment pilot projects remain a priority for expansion. Employment Related Services programming has been almost exclusively the domain of provincial government in Saskatchewan, with only very modest investments by IRCC.

5 Youth Overview - Saskatchewan
IRCC funded immigrant serving agencies currently deliver youth related services for newcomer youth in Small Centre and Urban Saskatchewan. Youth services are funded through 16 contribution agreements. IRCC negotiated target numbers of 6,901 SWIS clients in fiscal year $2,886,348 in funding has been allocated to SWIS programming. IRCC negotiated target numbers of 660 critical-hour youth clients in fiscal year $251,533 in funding has been allocated to Critical Hour Youth Programming. IRCC negotiated target numbers of 2,391 spring/summer youth clients in fiscal $616,440 in funding has been allocated to spring/summer programming.

6 Community Connections Overview - Saskatchewan
IRCC funded immigrant serving agencies currently offer Community Connections programming to newcomers in Small Centre and Urban Saskatchewan through: Volunteer Engagement Mainstream Engagement Connecting newcomers to Canadians Community Connections activities are offered via 27 negotiated contribution agreements. Targeted matching and volunteer coordination is taking place at individual SPOs using their resources to engage the broader community. Community Connections funding comprises less than 5% of Saskatchewan’s settlement funding allocation for fiscal year

7 Priority Setting - Saskatchewan
To ensure continued delivery of services and to inform future IRCC investments: Investment is currently based on landing numbers and demonstrated need. Are we using the right metrics? Assist IRCC by listing thematic areas of priority. What have we missed? What is not working? Do we have the right balance?

8 Next Steps - Saskatchewan
Working with your groups in the upcoming sessions : Prioritize your programming needs. Identify what program aspects require additional funding. Which activities and services are the most difficult to demonstrate outcomes?
