Total catchment area = 240 Sq. km Maximum water spread area of the lake = 5.7 Sq. km Present Water spread FTL = 4.81 Sq. km Shore line length = 14 km Volume of the Lake at spill level = Mcum Average depth at full capacity = 5.02 m Full Tank Level (FTL) = M 2

4. Protection of Lakes and Nalas in Catchment Areas
There are about 80 lakes in the catchment area of Hussainsagar Lake. Total catchment area 240 sq km spread over Kukatpally , Yousoufguda , Qutbullapur, Bowenpally , Balanagar, Jeedemetla, &Alwal. Proposed to take by up Protection categorizing into the following. Lakes > 10 hectares Lakes <10 Ha but Prominent & Prone for Encroachment Lakes of 10 hectares below Rangadhamini Lake.
