12 Who should be on your PBIS team?
Coordinator(s) School Administrator Family Member Student (when appropriate) Individuals able to provide: Applied behavioral expertise Coaching expertise Knowledge of student academic and behavior patterns Knowledge about the operations of the school across grade levels and programs Representative of school staff You want all staff members to feel like they have a voice on the team – someone they can reach out to that will represent their views when sitting at team meetings Think about if anyone is missing? Spend time talking about applied behavioral expertise and who that might be WHY To ensure that all perspectives are included in PBIS implementation. To ensure PBIS implementation, data review & dissemination of information throughout the school building. To provide technical assistance & support to everyone in the school.

13 Oh no! Not another Team! Helpful Tool: “Working Smarter” Team Matrix
Team, Committee or Initiative Related to School Climate & Student Behavior Purpose ~ Intended Outcomes Target Group Staff Involved What Action Plan goal does this address? Eliminate all initiatives that do NOT have a defined purpose and outcome measure. 2. Combine initiatives that have the same outcome measure and same target group. 3. Combine initiatives that have 75% of the same staff. 4. Eliminate initiatives that are not tied to School Improvement Goals. This will be an activity in the First Steps Module Series. It’s important to keep revisiting so you are making sure that you are using the least effort to make the biggest change. The goal is to make sure you work smarter, not harder by eliminating duplicative efforts

14 People may be reluctant to change because they only see one way of doing things
Escalator video What are concerns or challenges you might anticipate? Rewards?

15 Roll-Out: Conduct roll-out activities for staff, students, and family/community Implement all parts of PBIS Plan Conduct monthly Leadership Team meetings and report progress to all staff PBIS coordinator attends regular regional PBIS meetings When you are done with all your hard work at the universal training, you will work on rolling it out. All participants are important – think about how important it is for everybody to be aware and participate. Ask audience why it is important for everyone to participate?
