6 Luke 6:46-49 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? 47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. 49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

7 Brothers, how can we here at Northside build strong families for the Lord.
How can we as Christians here in Calgary prevent our children from running away from church as soon as they are able to make their own choice. How can we enter heaven as a family and as a church.

8 I am a very strong believer we can defeat any problems in marriage.
I am a very strong believer that the avenue of communication helps when we are willing to talk! I am a very strong believer that we can defeat the statistics that’s says: first marriage 50% chances of divorce, second marriage 65% chances and third marriage 80%, those statistics are done and for unbelievers. I am a very strong believer that God and the Bible are more than enough to fix our marital problems. I am a very strong believer that if I want to go to heaven, I must help my spouse!

9 FEAR GOD TOGETHER Follow the example of Cornelius (Acts 10:2, 22, 35) Follow the example of Noah (Heb. 11:7) Strong families will truly respect God, His power, His authority and His Word We are going to move forwards as families only when we all learn to FEAR the Lord! Acts 10:35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. Acts 10:22 And they said, “Cornelius the centurion, a just man, one who fears God and has a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to summon you to his house, and to hear words from you.” Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Acts 10:2  a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.

10 HEAR GOD TOGETHER Follow the example of Cornelius (Acts 10:22, 24, 27, 33; 11:14) Follow the example of Lois and Eunice (2 Tim. 3:14-15) Strong families will spend time reading and hearing God’s Word 2 Tim 3:14-15 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 33 So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God.” Acts 10:27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together. Acts 10:24 And the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends. Acts 10:22 And they said, “Cornelius the centurion, a just man, one who fears God and has a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to summon you to his house, and to hear words from you.” Acts 11:14 who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.’

11 BELIEVE GOD TOGETHER Follow the example of Lois, Eunice & Timothy (2 Tim. 1:5) Follow the example of Crispus (Acts 18:8) Strong families will increase and sustain a firm faith in God’s Word. But we need to pass this unto our families if we want to have STRONG families in the Lord! This is a honest “chain reaction” Acts 18:8 Then Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his household. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized. 2 Timothy 1:5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.

12 OBEY GOD TOGETHER Follow the example of the Philippian jailer (Acts 16:30-34) Follow the example of Lydia (Acts 16:14-15) + Cornelius (Acts 10:47-48) Strong families will submit to God and do whatever He says to do. But remember: God is pleased when we obey His Word and stop bringing excuses like king Saul. Acts 16:14-15 Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. 15 And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So she persuaded us. Acts 16:30-34 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

13 SERVE GOD TOGETHER Follow the example of Stephanas (1 Cor. 16:15)
Strong families will find joy, be satisfied and thrive in ministering to others. They will always keep busy in the work of The Lord. They will always SERVE God together and NOT ALONE! 1 Cor 16:15 I urge you, brethren—you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints—

14 Head of House, take responsibility!!!
Prepare for the saving of your household (Heb. 11:7) Dig deep and lay the foundation on God and His Word (Luke 6:47-48) Luke 6:47-48 47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Strong Families: Fear God Together Hear God Together Believe God Together Obey God Together Serve God Together

15 PONDER Together a Bible Passage PRAY Together About That Passage
PACT Together to Practice That Passage
