5. Annotate text
Mark the following things in the margins (annotate text).
! = interesting idea
:) = endorse the idea
{ } = challenge the idea
? = question about the idea
∞ = connection to the idea
There are several ways to annotate text, this is a quick way to mark-up and make notes to follow up with later.

6. Share your annotations
Pick three things to share with a shoulder partner or table group.
Pick three places you annotated in your learner standards (question, interesting idea, challenge, etc) and share with a shoulder partner. (if time permits, share out one with whole table group, round robin style).

8. What is already working?
Use the Padlet to reflect on ways you’re already rocking the library standards.
Write down as many ideas as you can of things you’re doing in each foundation. If you can’t think of anything you’re already doing, write what you’d like to try.
Padlet has shared foundations in columns with the key commitments under each foundation. The idea is people would post ideas for each one and these ideas are then available for everyone to access and share later.

5 min: Find a group that includes all the shared foundations (IICCEE) and summarize your previous group’s discussion.

Some kids are paralyzed by “what do you want to know about _______?” Use the “I notice, I wonder” table to record what they see, and create questions

Think of a teaching strategy your standard for each category:

For example, for articulating an awareness of the contributions of a ranger of learners- no tech: poster project with sticky note comments,

Make sure your space has seating and materials that will spark learner’s interest
