WELCOME Clare Oliver & Stella Davis

2 Building 6 racing cars…. Please split yourselves into 6 groups
The task is to complete all the cars including the stickers Your target time is 12 minutes

3 The aim of the task The aim of the task was to build all the cars
There was no part in the description which said you had to stay in your 6 teams Once one team had finished there was nothing to stop you helping other teams Why do you feel we acted in this way?

4 A possible solution Maybe it was because as a team you are used to working in “clusters” rather than seeing yourselves working for one organisation. PCT Child Health Centre Hospital Health Visitors Speech & Language therapy Continence service Equipment hire Etc.

5 Continued. Although many of you have separate office locations and differing jobs you all work for the same organisation You all have the same goal – to help patients The PCT would like employees to view themselves as working for the whole organisation and not just a cluster within it

6 Recap on skills At the beginning of these workshops and throughout you have demonstrated the skills of an effective and efficient administration team The skills you feel are paramount to being successful in your roles include:

7 Superadministrator! 14 Bespoke workshop This morning we have: Reminded you of your skills
Outlined the challenges Put the two together and what do you get…?

15 Practical solutions In groups or independently please think about these questions and ideas to take to John Such and Christian Jenner this afternoon. We will reconvene at to share questions and compile a list to take forward. Rare opportunity to do this.

16 Questions What ideas do you have for saving money/time/resources? How will you put this into practice? “If there is no impact on the patient then the job shouldn’t be happening” What tasks would you challenge/review? Would you stop doing that job or do it in a different way? Where do other people need your support to be effective for the organisation? How will you offer this? What do you do that could be shared with other teams? How can this be done? What makes it difficult for you to be effective and efficient in your role? What solutions would you suggest?
