Accessing the Web of Knowledge
From - under Major Databases From library homepages: in right hand column OR from the MCB Library page at (under Library Information)

The default is the Web of Science
The default is the Web of Science. Select All Databases for a broader search

Details about the databases in the Web of Knowledge. Choose the most relevant one or select All Databases for a wide initial sweep.

Starting screen. The default is one box for Topic but note that you select other options and add fields

Refine your search. Add fields; select the Timespan;
click on More Settings for further options.

Too many results? Try the Refine options on the left.

Select a document type to further narrow results.
A Review article pulls together and analyzes all the research on a topic – good place to begin.

Keep Refining until you get a workable list. Then you can narrow your
results further. One option is to change the Sort option; the default is Publication Date, but you can select Relevance, Times Cited, and more.

You can Sort By the number of times an article has been cited or referenced
in another article. Then by creating a Citation Report you can see details.

Click on an individual article to find out more about it – and if the article is

As you work, select the references you want by clicking in their boxes, and Add them to the Marked List

From your Marked List you can send your references
directly to your reference management software.
