1 I’m so happy you’re in my class
I’m so happy you’re in my class! We are gong to have a wonderful year together! As you wait for us to get started, your parent(s) can begin the following: Sign up for a conference time on the front chalkboard. Sign up for a class party at the grey table. Initial the bus paper on the grey table to verify your child’s bus number. Sign the 3 volunteer forms (stapled white papers) at each desk and place it in the paper tray on my desk. Check out the math practice books (Vol. 1 & 2) and reading resource book located at the gray table! We will begin around 6:10 

3 Nurse Alert Please do not send medication in your child’s backpack
Nurse Alert Please do not send medication in your child’s backpack. Only inhalers and Epi-pens that have been cleared by the nurse are allowed in student’s backpacks. We have nut allergies! We will wash hands before entering the classroom each day. If you ever come into the classroom to volunteer, please also remember to wash your hands 1st. Thank you!

4 Lunch Put money or check in an envelope with child’s first and last name and account number. Pay online. Practice the key pad nightly. Don’t forget to push ENTER.

9 Allergy Policy The SVSD School Board adopted an allergy policy which modifies the way snacks, including birthday and holiday party snacks, are provided to students for safety reasons. This is updated so please see the foods list. Please refer to the CVE Student Handbook. This can be accessed on the CVE website.

10 Classroom Supplies Needed
Please see the First Grade Supplies List located on my website. I have: folders, highlighters, post-its, flags and paper bags, so no need to buy extra. Tissues and Clorox wipes are frequently needed. Art Shirt with name on it. Socks in a Ziploc bag with name on the bag.

11 Technology Kindle Fires We have headphones thanks to the CVE-PTO

12 The Olweus theme is… We will continue having our Olweus meetings on Day 1. We will integrate Mr. Roger’s messages into our Olweus meetings. There will be more to come about his mission to promote kindness, caring, and accepting others.
