2. City of Edinburgh Council Procedures
City of Edinburgh Council will post a letter regarding transition from P7 to S1
If you live in the City of Edinburgh council area, a place is automatically reserved for your child within the catchment schools
If you request a place in St. Thomas’, you may be asked to provide proof of baptism

3. Children who are not baptised in the Roman Catholic faith can still be registered for a place at St. Thomas’, but a place cannot be guaranteed
Places are granted on the basis of having a home address in the catchment area and not by attendance at feeder primary school.

4. Placing Requests
If you do not live within the St. Thomas’ catchment area, you will be required to apply for a placing request.
Applications are processed initially through City of Edinburgh council
Placing requests are only considered after all catchment pupils have been allocated a place
Once the school year has started in August, the waiting lists are transferred to St. Thomas’ and we can allocate any remaining places

5. Key Dates
Placing Requests for S1 places will open on 6th November 2016
The closing date for placing requests is 24th December
