LEAD
For the first time ever Chem 2 (759 students) will offer a learning center. It will meet in TJ Hall.
LEAD tutoring and learning centers were initiated by the second week of the semester.
We launched our first-ever “On Line Learning Center” in Chem 1.
We are arranging a “LEAD Showcase” on Nov for fellow UM faculty/administrators.

South Central Regional Professional Development Center
Partnering in leadership training for implementation of the Missouri Educator Evaluation System.
Four training modules: Foundations, The Probationary Period, Student Growth Measures, and Evaluator Training / Descriptive Feedback.
Each module is a full day of training, and will be repeated 8 times throughout the region.

Record Graduate Enrollment Growth:
Graduate enrollment rose from 1414 in FS 2007 to 1927 in FS a 36.28% increase. 
The PhD student enrollment rose from 344 in FS2007 to 545 in FS2013 – a 58.43% increase.

We continue to have a managed enrollment growth on campus…our freshman class for FS13 was 1,237 up 112 from last year and we welcomed 420 new transfer students, up about 54 from last year. Our overall enrollment is 8,009, 5.9% over last year. 2 16 11

9. Not Your “Average Joe” Mid-range ACT: 26-31
Pictured here is our new class of freshman Miners. Our mascot is Joe Miner but our students are definitely not “your average Joe”!. We have 57 National Merit scholars on campus and continue to have nearly 25% of our incoming Missouri freshmen who are Bright Flight scholars. Part of our mission is to serve high need students: over 25% of our students are Pell eligible and we had nearly 1700 students eligible for the Missouri ACCESS need-based scholarship. Our freshman class is once again very talented: our mid-range ACT is 26-31….that means that one half of our students fall in that range but remember ½ do not! This is NOT our ACT requirement and we do accept students below and above that range ….our average ACT increased again this year, to a 27.8 and the average GPA is Our students continue to bring in a large amount of transfer credit….encourage them to go to our Registrar’s website for a “Course Equivalency” database listing how courses transfer.

Countries represented include Brazil, China, Colombia, East Timor, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Kuwait, Libya, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Thailand

International Affairs hosted a
scavenger hunt for Brazil
Scientific Mobility Program
students and exchange students
(non-degree). The international
students were matched with American Students and sent out to explore the
campus. Twenty-nine students participated.
