2 Fig 1 Photographs taken from an elderly patient undergoing acute type A aortic dissection repair. (A) The transverse pericardial sinus was closed with sutures before the graft implantation. (B) A bovine pericardial patch covered the pericardial recess between the superior caval vein and pulmonary artery, and an opening was made in the left inner side of the superior caval vein. A Foley catheter was inserted into the superior caval vein for temporary obstruction. (C) All the graft and suture lines were wrapped, and a quick dry surgical field appeared.
