4. Remember this from yesterday?
Sarah broke complex numbers into the addition of two easier numbers in order to solve multiplication problems.
Ex: 7(89) = 7(80) + 7(9). Well, it works with subtraction too. 38 could also be written as 40 – 2, So 9(38) = 9(40) – 9(2).
Rewrite each value as the difference of two values that are easy to work with.
Now go back and multiply each number by 8 using Sarah’s method with subtraction. Show your work.
