1 Dimensional Analysis: Factor-Label Method
Math technique used for conversion problems. Conversion Factor is a ratio built from the equalities. You put it together so the units cancel out. The value of the ratio is “one.”

2 Steps Write down what you are given
Take the original number and Multiply by the numerator and divide by denominator of the conversion factor Keep doing this until you end up with the desired units

3 If you have 8 dozen eggs, how many eggs do you have?
 That’s the given information. 8 Doz eggs X 12 eggs = 96 eggs 1 Doz eggs  That’s the answer. That’s the conversion factor.

4 Another Example of the Factor-Label Method
Convert 4 pints to fl ozs. Covert 72 yards to feet

5 Convert 14cups/min to quarts/sec.
Convert 5mi/hr to ft/sec
