3 Our 2010-2011 Building Goals All students, staff and community will have a genuine sense of belonging at Munn Elementary School. All students and staff will be engaged in enrichment opportunities at Munn Elementary School. All students will show measured academic success at Munn Elementary School.

Strategy 1: : We will continuously assess and align human, financial and physical resources necessary to achieve our strategic objectives enroute to our mission. Munn BPT Goal 1: All students, staff and community will have a genuine sense of belonging at Munn Elementary School. The goal continues to be supported by our work with Rachels Challenge and Peaceful Buses. Together these initiatives create a culture of kindness and compassion and directly address the root problems of isolation, prejudice and bullying.

6 Fall 2010 we as a building re-committed ourselves to Rachels Challenge, continuing to build a positive learning environment based on the themes of kindness, compassion and added acceptance. All Munn students and staff signed the ACCEPTANCE banner SOAR assemblies devoted to celebrating students and staff modeling our themes Staff sending students postcards to model/recognize kindness, compassion and acceptance. -January 5 Peaceful bus school kick-off Rachels Challenge Year Two at Munn

7 Strategic Objective 2 Each student will demonstrate love of learning through the passionate pursuit of personal interests. Strategy 2: We will inspire students, staff and all other members of our community to embrace, commit to, and achieve our strategic objectives enroute to our mission. 12 Page Turners Page Turners is a literature-based competition for students in grades 2nd-5th. Teams of multi-aged students prepare to answer questions by reading books and writing questions. Reading Enrichment Opportunities Iditaread K-5 School-wide reading incentive by each grade level using the Iditarod race as a teach piece and hook

14 JUNE 2010 RIGBY LITERACY WALL ACCOMPLISHMENTS KINDERGARTEN 98% of students are reading at grade level. 38% are reading above grade level. GRADE 1 100% of students are reading at grade level. 62% of students are reading above grade level. GRADE 2 100% of students are reading at grade level. 83% of students are reading above grade level. GRADE 3 100% of students are reading at grade level. 58% of students are reading above grade level. GRADE 4 63% of AIS students are reading at grade level. GRADE 5 64% of AIS students are reading at grade level. 21% of 5th grade AIS students are reading above grade level.

15 2010-2011Primary and Intermediate Literacy Wall created to measure student growth. K-5 implementation of Fountas and Pinnell All K-5 students monitored Kindergarten 2008 9% of students exceeding grade level reading expectations 2009 51% of students exceeding grade level reading expectations 2010 78% of students exceeding grade level reading expectations Math Investigations fully implemented K-5 Munn staff has identified MI as a focus of professional development and growth. Release planning days provided for Grade Level Teams SIP Plans – scheduled biweekly October – June 25 students identified for the SIP process IST and SIP processes are aligned to follow the RTI model. One third of teachers (IST, teacher leaders) are trained in SCHOOLS ATTUNED researched based instructional strategies. (allkindsofminds.org) Additional Munn staff was trained in a one day awareness in July. Monitoring Student Achievement

16 All -K-5 classrooms are equipped with a SMARTBoard that are utilized throughout the day. All Munn teachers have received Instructional Whiteboard professional development training. All Munn students receive a minimum of 45 minutes per week of technology instruction that supports Spencerports K-5 Technology Skills connected to the classroom curriculum. Building level professional development and release time is focused on further use and implementation of IT throughout daily instruction. Instructional Technology(IT) at Munn
