5 A-train – What is it? The A-train is a 21-mile regional rail system connecting Denton and Dallas Counties. DCTA has five A-train stations; two in Denton and three in Lewisville and also interfaces with DART at their Trinity Mills Station in Carrollton. Passengers can transfer to the Green Line, which provides access to Downtown Dallas, the Medical District, Pleasant Grove, Fair Park, DART’s Red, Orange and Blue Lines and the Trinity Railway Express. Visit DART.org for DART service and schedule information. The A-train operates Monday through Friday, excluding New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Service may be limited or modified on days surrounding these holidays. Sign up for DCTA Rider Alerts to receive schedule modification notices.

6 A-train – How to Ride Plan your trip. Buy your pass.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to carefully plan their trip prior to travel. Use this website or the DCTA Go Guide for route and schedule information necessary to plan your trip. Buy your pass. Buy a transit pass at any A-train station or Downtown Denton Transit Center (DDTC). For a list of additional transit pass outlet locations, visit the Fare Information page. Validate your pass. Validate any pre-purchased Day Pass through the ticket vending machine on the station platform.  Passes purchased through the ticket vending machine are immediately validated.

7 A-train – How to Ride Be ready for your stop.
Trains stop at all five A-train stations and DART’s Trinity Mills Station; you don’t need to signal the operator to get on or off. Upcoming stops will be announced on the train. Transfer to the Green Line. DCTA does not meet every DART Green Line train and DCTA service ends before DART’s service ends. Please be aware of appropriate Green Line connections listed on the A-train Schedule. Transfer to DCTA Connect. Passengers can transfer between the A-train and Connect bus routes to complete their trip. If using Connect as part of your travel plan, visit the Connect Routes & Schedules page.
