IEEE WG Review and Approval Option 1: Review, modify and approve at the May IEEE meeting Can have reply available in May (meets June request) Commonly used process for external standards body review comment requests Option 2: Letter Ballot (30/40 day) Can have reply available in July (past June request) Commonly used for WG drafts, operating rules In April, the CAPWAP document, request for comments, draft reply comments will be available, removing uncertainty of scope of response; decide in May

IP Mobility Optimizations (Mob Opts) Research Group formed Chairs: Bill Arbaugh, Rajeev Koordli Analysis of Mobile IP Route Optimization considering such parameters as traffic pattern, link conditions, topology etc. with the goal of arriving at conclusions on its usage Investigation of securing handovers by making use of access authentication parameters, focussing initially on IEEE 802 systems. And, applying the adopted security for Fast Handovers designed in the Mobile IP group in the IETF. Improving re-authentication latency during handovers, and subsequently transport protocol performance
