2 Charitable objectives
To promote, protect and preserve the health and social welfare of all people, principally but not exclusively within the south west region To build the capacity of health and social care groups and organisations and to provide them with the support, information and services to participate in the development and planning of local health, social and community services To support individuals to access services promoting health and wellbeing, by the provision of information, advocacy, brokerage and similar activities To promote, organise and facilitate cooperation and partnership working between the social sector, statutory and other relevant bodies in the achievement of the above purposes.

Delivery of signposting and information through Well Aware 5 local Healthwatch Projects (Somerset HW ended in the year) Provision of advocacy services Social Prescribing services Voluntary Sector Support on issues of health and social care Delivery of three projects for Bristol Ageing Better

Developed new partnerships and secured new contracts Reviewed and published new policies Improved Board performance by the recruitment of new members, development of specialist sub groups and review of reports Regained quality standards, Investors in Volunteers, Advocacy Quality Mark and ISO9001 Well Aware rebranding and relaunch

Year end surplus of £51,290

9 Reserves Charity policy is to hold reserves of three to six months operating costs This is to ensure a sound financial plan to sustain its charitable work and protect from insolvency Target for reserves for the year was between £370,500 and £741,432 Unrestricted reserves at year end were £449,059 (increase of 8%)

10 Main costs 68% of expenditure is staff costs
22% goes straight out to partner services 10% on rent, IM&T and professional fees 90% is direct costs 10% is management/ admin costs
