2 2 What the Finance Major Can Do for You! o38% reporting 2007 MBAs graduate with Corporate Financial or Investment Management Majors; up from 26% among 2006 graduates oStarting salary for 2007 graduates in Finance-related jobs is $82,335, ranging from $47,000 to $100,000; 77% reported a signing bonus averaging $15,295 ($3,000 to $40,000) oTypically, Finance & banking lead other fields by 15-20% oTypes of placements last three years: n Financial Analyst (ABN AMRO, Limited, Nortel Networks, P&G, IBM) n Bank Analyst (National City, Nationsbank, Key) n Investment Analyst (Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Cantor Fitzgerald, Lehman Bros.) n Investment Banking (Barclays Capital, Bear Stearns)

6 6 How to Get There! oWe have two Finance Majors that are designed to be career- track oriented: n Corporate Financial Management (finance analyst, banking analyst, consultant) n Investment Management (investment banking, investment analyst, risk management) oWe have three minor options (Finance, Financial Services & Real Estate) that would be a natural for consultants and others that seek some degree of specialization oWe assume that you have successfully completed MBA 810 oEach major track is composed of BASE courses and additional SELECTIVE courses
