2 I have come to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance
Luke 5.32

3 The Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost
Luke 19.10

4 What about the one? We need to be out in the world (building strong relationships): ‘You are the salt of the earth’ (Matt 5.13) We need to understand and connect with others in the world: ‘To the Jews I became as a Jew I have become all things to all people so that I might by all means save some’ (1 Cor 9.20, 22) 3. Our churches need to be watering holes for the world: An outsider or unbeliever may say ‘You are mad’ OR ‘that person will bow down before God and worship him’ (1 Cor )

5 Preaching checklist? If an interested non-Christian from the area attended the service, how helpful would the sermon be to them in their spiritual journey? (Rate out of 10):

6 Church exists by mission, just as a fire exists by burning
Church exists by mission, just as a fire exists by burning. Where there is no mission, there is no Church; and where there is neither Church nor mission, there is no faith. It is a secondary question whether by that we mean Foreign Missions, or simply the preaching of the Gospel in the home Church. Mission, Gospel preaching, is the spreading out of the fire which Christ has thrown upon the earth. He who does not propagate this fire shows that he is not burning. He who burns propagates the fire. (Emil Brunner)

7 “The Church is the only society that exists for the benefit of those who are not its members."
William Temple
