2 Fig 1 These images are from the patient with mediastinal infection after endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA). (A) Chest computed tomography (CT) before EBUS-TBNA. Mediastinal lymph node enlargement was observed. (B) Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography before EBUS-TBNA. The enlarged mediastinal tumor showed uptake of FDG. (C and D) Chest CT (C) before and (D) after the EBUS-TBNA. After the EBUS-TBNA procedure, the mediastinal tumor was remarkably enlarged (red arrows), suggesting mediastinal infection. 3 Fig 2 These images are from the patient with airway obstruction after endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA). (A) Chest computed tomography before EBUS-TBNA. The subcarinal and interlobar lymph nodes were enlarged, and the intermediate bronchus was narrow. (B) These lymph nodes showed uptake of fluorodeoxyglucose. (C and D) Chest roentgenographic images (C) before and (D) after the EBUS-TBNA. After the EBUS-TBNA, the right lower lobe became atelectatic and showed obstructive pneumonia. 4 Fig 3 These images are from the patient with airway obstruction. (A) Peritracheal lymph nodes were enlarged and showed uptake of fluorodeoxyglucose. The right main and right intermediate bronchi were narrow by the enlarged lymph nodes. (B) Bronchoscopy showed the stricture of the right main and intermediate bronchus caused by the recurrence of lung cancer.
