2 Child Measurement Programme for Wales Report 2011/12
This is the first report of the Child Measurement Programme for Wales. The report provides high level findings from the measurement of children in reception year (age four to five) during the academic year 2011/12. Prevalence is described by key categories, including underweight, healthy weight, overweight but not obese, and obese. These categories are based on body mass index thresholds, taking account of age and gender. This first report of the Child Measurement Programme represents a transitional year of data collection, as standardisation was incomplete during this year. This may have an impact on data quality which is expected to be resolved in future years; it is most likely to affect reported participation and withdrawal rates as well as findings in areas where participation is low.
