1 The Fear Place Genre: Realistic Fiction

2 Meet the Author Phyllis Reynolds Naylor constantly comes up with new
ideas and characters. Every time she gets a new book idea, she puts the title of the book on a three-ring binder. As she thinks up characters and scenes for that book, she jots them down in the notebook. She usually has about ten of these idea notebooks on her shelf while she is writing a book.

3 Meet the Illustrator Paul Lee works in his pajamas all
day, and he likes to work with the television on. Although he has an artist's table, he prefers to draw while lying on the floor with all his materials spread around him! Lee says that he suffers from "the-grass-is-always-greener syndrome," which means that whenever he is working on something, he wants to be working on something else. So he often works on very different projects at the same time.
