Each of us have three primary resources. One of them is given in exact equal measure to every person every day – and yet we dont all seem to ever have the same amount And one of them we have to make One of them is given to every person in different measures – and we have some influence on how much of it we are given

Available Time Energy Money The Three Primary Resources are:

The surface of this triangle represents your life. It could represent the lifestyle you have, your quality of life, or the impact you have on your society – whatever is important to you Available Time Energy Money

Available Time Energy Money Our skills and creativity enable us to combine these three, to improve our lifestyle Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity

Available Time Energy Money If you have enough of two of these, but lack one, you can use those two, and apply your skill and creativity to build the 3 rd. Applied Skill and Creativity E.g. you can use your money and energy to hire some people Available Time Energy Applied Skill and Creativity At first you will have a bit less money and energy, but now you are better positioned to systematically build again, applying your skill and creativity to effectively combine energy, money and time.

Available Time Energy Money If you have enough of two of these, but lack one, you can use those two, and apply your skill and creativity to build the 3 rd. Applied Skill and Creativity Or, if you are short on energy, you can use your time and money to do something invigorating – like skydiving, or buying a case of Red Bull – to boost your energy Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity This might use up some of your available time and money, but it will bring the balance back – enabling you once again to build and expand the surface of the triangle

Available Time Energy Money If you have enough of two of these, but lack one, you can use those two, and apply your skill and creativity to build the 3 rd. Applied Skill and Creativity Or, if you have time and energy, you can use your skill and creativity to come up with some plan, and then execute that plan to begin to make some money Money This might use up some of your available time and energy, but it will bring things back into balance, enable you to become more effective again. Available Time Energy Applied Skill and Creativity

You Live your Best Life When You Carefully Hold These Three in Balance

Available Time Energy Money You can apply this to your organisation Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity The applied skill and creativity can relate to that of you as a leader, or to the leadership team The surface of the triangle represents the size and impact of your organisation or team

A trap many of us fall into, is to focus on increasing only one of these, at the cost of the other two. Available Time Energy Money You may succeed in increasing that, but ultimately, you quality of life will remain limited. A common one is working really hard to get lots of money, and not having the time or energy to really enjoy the benefit of that money.

A trap many of us fall into, is to focus on increasing only one of these, at the cost of the other two. Available Time Energy Money You may succeed in increasing that, but ultimately, you quality of life will remain limited. Or: You may say that money is not important, you would rather have time available - but this can lead to a chronic shortage of money and/or depression from boredom

When you run out of two of these at the same time, you have a crisis. Money You may have money, but you have neither the time, nor the energy to apply that money to do anything useful.

When you run out of two of these at the same time, you have a crisis. Available Time You may have time available, but if you have no money, and you are totally depressed, you will not be able to apply that time in any useful way.

When you run out of two of these at the same time, you have a crisis. Energy You may have the energy and the passion, but if you dont have time to use that energy, and you dont have money to use to help buy some time by employing someone, or quitting your job and focusing on what you love – then you are stuck.

Available Time Energy Money By always spending some of your time, money and energy on building your skill and creativity, you are increasing your ability to effectively grow the surface of the triangle Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity

Available Time Energy Money Sometimes your triangle grows beyond what your applied skill and creativity can handle e.g. because you won the lottery, or through sheer luck struck a really good business deal Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity Then over time your triangle will shrink to the size appropriate For your level Of skill and creativity

Applying this To Decision Making

Available Time Energy Money When you make a decision, the implementation of that decision requires spending time, energy, and often money Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity

Available Time Energy Money Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity After implementing your decision, if you correctly apply your skill and creativity, you normally can regain your investment of time, energy and money, and then grow beyond that.

Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity The WORST decision you can make is to always be changing your decision. Let me do this. Or let me rather do that Actually, no, that first one was a better idea

Available Time Energy Money Available Time Energy Money Applied Skill and Creativity The Decision You Stick With Is the Right one It doesnt matter so much whether you made the best decision What matters is that once youve made the decision, you immediately begin to build your skills and creativity in that area And then use those skills and creativity to MAKE that decision the right one

This Will Require Persistence and Determination

The only really wrong decision you can make, therefore, is to make a decision that commits you to doing something you hate. Because then you will build skills and creativity, and become better and better at being miserably successful

Personally, I have found the most difficult question to answer when it comes to making decisions is: What do you WANT to do?
