Land-linking opportunities Sensitivity to issues in transit countries Public – e.g. smuggling, infrastructure costs Private – e.g. competition 12

Challenges Win-win for countries but not for individuals… Many individuals in landlocked and transit countries will lose in case of facilitated transit trade: licensed operators, fees, Customs brokers
