6 On Friday, possibly every city in Michigan will plunge below zero
On Friday, possibly every city in Michigan will plunge below zero. Many locations could set record low temperatures for February 28. In fact, it will be so cold a unique record may be broken in two Upper Peninsula cities. Thursday may not climb above zero (Fahrenheit) in Marquette and Ironwood. If that happens, it would mark the latest sub-zero (Fahrenheit) high temperature in Marquette and Ironwood.

11 ? ? ? ? ? ? ACT TWO

12 What information do we need to figure out how much would it cost to run your faucet for one month, March for example?

13

14 My recent water bill showed that water was $5
My recent water bill showed that water was $5.50 per 1000 gallons and sewerage was an additional $4.00 per 1000 gallons… so $9.50 per 1000 gallons

15 ACT 3

16 So, we have 16oz per 10.5 seconds.
How many ounces per minute? 91.4 oz/min 91.4oz /min *1/128oz/ gal 0.71gallons / min how many minutes in an hour? 60min/hr How many hours in a day ? 24hr /day How many days in March? 31/ in March 0.71*60*24*31=31694 gallons in March 31694/ in thousand gallon increments That makes Thousand gallon increments * $9.50 =$ for the month of March with rounding. Without rounding $

17 Order the steps you used
Experimental data into units add sewer rates add water rates Turn hours into days Turn the seconds into minutes multiply total water rate by number of 1000 gallon lots turn days into months Turn minutes into hours Turn ounces into gallons divide gallons by 1000 to obtain the number of 1000 gallon lots purchased
