Today we are thinking about our future in order to create goals.

2. First assignment Goals of this assignment:
For you to consider who you are and what you want in the future (goals)
For you to communicate who you are and what your goals are to the rest of us

3. What is a Vision Board?
A vision board is a collage of pictures, phrases and words that represents what you want to be, do or have in your life. The idea is that your imagination can trick the doubting, sometimes too logical, part of your brain the part of your brain that makes you doubt yourself, and keeps you from reaching for the life that you want to have.
By creating a visual representation of the vision for yourself, it will help to bring positive change in your life. Your vision board will remind you of your goals and help attract what you desire by keeping the focus on positive thoughts and positive energy needed to achieve those goals.

4. Begin Brainstorming Opening the Door to Your Vision (Handout)
Please jot down some ideas to the following questions in each category (as it fits you)
What would you like to be doing in five to ten years?
What would you like to be in five to ten years?
What would you like to have in five to ten years?

5. Continue Brainstorming
On the back of the handout, please complete as many ideas as you can about how you envision yourself in 5-10 years
Complete as many sentence starters as possible

7. Your Assignment
Create a vision board that represents you and what you want to accomplish in the next 5-10 years
I will provide a piece of construction paper for you to put your vision board on. You are welcome to bring something else to use if you wish.
I will provide magazines, scissors, and glue sticks. You are welcome to bring more magazines!
Present: show us your vision board, explain at least five things that are on it

8. Timeline Thursday: brainstorm and get assignment Friday: work day
Monday: work day
Tuesday: presentations
Wednesday: (early dismissal) finish speeches if necessary
Thursday: move on to college readings/activities
