This person is always willing to talk to anyone. He will also be more than willing to share with you who the decision makers are within his company.

How do I use the tools needed to perform a quality safety inspection? Chain Wear Gauge Identifying your chain Method 1 - Look on the outside of the chain. The chain will be stamped on several links. For example it may be stamped BL6. Method 2- Measuring the pitch. Determine the Pitch of the chain Pitch is the measurement between two pins

Chain Wear Gauge The Pitch will determine which scale will be used to measure stretch in the chain.

Chain Wear Gauge Using the correct scale, center one end of the gauge on any pin of the chain. Use the same scale at the opposite end of the gauge to determine if the chain is worn. If the mark lines up with the chain pin it is over stretched and worn out.

Fork Calipers Fork Caliper “GO” measurement setting. Fork Caliper “NO GO” measurement.

Using the end of the Fork Caliper set the “GO” measurement on the fork shaft. Thickness Inspection Using the “NO GO” part of the Fork Caliper, measure the thickness of the fork blade 2” forward of the bend. If the “NO GO” part of the Fork Caliper slides over the fork blade it is bad.
