4 Wordsworth’s Life Born in 1770 in northern England, William Wordsworth was the second of five children. His mother died when he was seven years old. After his father’s death six years later, William and his three brothers were sent to a grammar school in the village of Hawkshead, in the heart of the Lake District. At Hawkshead, Wordsworth was allowed to explore the countryside after completing his lessons, and he developed a deep love of nature.

5 Dorothy Wordsworth, was very important in William Wordsworth’s life as she was the one who inspired him to write poems. After their parents passed away they where all what was left and had.

6 Wordsworth died on 23 April 1850 and was buried in Grasmere churchyard. His great autobiographical poem, 'The Prelude', which he had worked on since 1798, was published after his death

Consider the recreation of this moment in the mind of Dorothy Wordsworth, the poet's sister who shared in this instant with her brother: I never saw daffodils so beautiful they grew among the mossy stones about and about them, some rested their heads upon these stones as on a pillow for weariness and
