1 Career Cruising: My Saved Careers
This PowerPoint will walk you through the ‘My Saved Careers’ activity that is part of your career cruising activities for your 9th, 10th, and11th grade years. This activity is designed to have you use your Matchmaker results and personal interests to save some career options to your plan. Completing this activity is necessary for the completion of your High School and Beyond Plan which is a graduation requirement. You will need to have out your laptop for this activity. 2 To Log in to Career Cruising:
Open a FireFox browser window: Go to PowerSchool Learning and in the top right corner click ‘Apps’ Select ‘Career Cruising’ off the list and it should open You must use a FireFox browser to complete the activity. Open a Firefox browser and log in to PowerSchool Learning. In the upper right hand corner in a dropdown menu labeled ‘Apps’. From that menu select Career Cruising to enter the online system.

3 Click on ‘MY PLAN’ under your name
When you open your Career cruising, click on “My Plan” which is located directly below your name on the left hand side.

4 Click on Careers at the top of the page
Use the Keyword Search by entering the name of a career that you would like to pursue or was suggested to you and click Search. Select the careers tab at the top of screen. In the keyword search box, type the name of a career that you would like to pursue or that was suggested to you.

5 Matching Your Interests with Careers
Once you pull up a career you can explore the information for that career including the suitability of that career for you comparatively to your Matchmaker results you have input. Everyone must save careers to their plan by clicking the blue ‘Save to my Plan’ button on the right hand side. While additional careers can be saved and will stay on your profile from year to year, freshman must have a minimum of 4 save to check off in their 9th grade year, sophomores must have a minimum of 5 save to check off in their 10th grade year, and juniors must have a minimum of 6 save to check off in their 11th grade year. At any point you can click on ‘My Plan’ at the top of the page and then ‘My Careers’ on the left side to see what careers you have saved. Freshman must save a minimum of 4 careers Sophomores must save a minimum of 5 careers Juniors must save a minimum of 6 careers

6 Click on ‘my plan’ The following steps will check off that you have the appropriate number of careers saved. Click on ‘My Plan’ under your name at the top left corner.

7 Click on ‘my Progress’ Click on the “My Progress” button on the top right corner.

8 Click ‘My Saved Careers’
On the list select the “My Saved Careers” assignment.

9 Check ‘Reflect and Confirm’
Click the check mark in the Reflect and confirm box for the My saved careers assignment. This step ensures that you have completed and checked off the My Saved Careers assignment to the best of your current ability.

10 Check your ‘My Progress’ Bar
Your progress should increase by about 16%. **The percentage will vary based on how much you have completed and what grade you are in. Questions?
