1 Porcupine By Sydney and Bayleigh

2 What it looks like It has quills all over its body. It also has brown fur also has short strong legs. Has hair legs soles on the feet for climbing trees. A porcupine has many quills such as 30,000. The shortest quills are on the cheeks. The longest quills are on the back.

3 size A porcupine can be 1m long. It can weight up to 11kg. It is the second largest rodent.

4 Body covering/color It has a coarse, long, brown overcoat. Porcupines have a coat of quills they come up when they are scared.

5 There special body parts are there quills and claws.

6 How it breaths It breaths through its nose.

7 How it moves it moves with its front and back feet.

8 Food/what it eats It eats tree bark, leaves, twigs, and plants.

9 Rest/sleep They lay down when sleeping . They sit up when resting.

10 Habitat home It spends a lot of time in the trees. They also live alone sometimes. They sometimes share a den.

11 What does it do in the winter
They do not hibernate in winter. They are very active at night time in the winter.

12 Family life Porcupines mate in late summer and early fall. Seven months mating the female gives birth to a single baby.
