8 What data is available in: Farm Structure Survey?
2 27 April 2012 FARM STRUCTURE SURVEY What data is available in: Farm Structure Survey? 1 record per farm. Latest data 2010 Agricultural census Each decade a census and 2 or 3 Intermediate sample surveys More than 200 variables! The Farm Structure Survey collects data from all the National Statistical Authorities in all Member states, Croatia, Norway, Switzerland, Montenegro, Macedonia, Iceland. Each country send the micro data, this means that in Eurostat there is one record per farm. For example, the latest data on the 2010 Agricultural Census has um register for each of the 12 million holdings surveyed in the EU 27.

15 4 How can young farmers help out agricultural statistics?
Current legislation covers the Surveys until 2016. New legal act needed for the survey from 2020 onwards. Preliminary work has started for the new system Objectives: Reduce the burden on farmers and on the National Statistical Institutes. More flexibility Use of administrative data Adapt to new agricultural realities.

16 4 How can young farmers help out agricultural statistics?
Farm unions, and associations are key players. In many countries they are working together with the statistical offices for collecting the information on farms Farm unions can have influence on the better use of administrative data COPA COGECA is participating in the Permanent Committee of Agricultural Statistics SEMINAR (once a year in Luxembourg - EUROSTAT) We are glad to receive any input from CEJA on the future of the agricultural statistics.
