Objectives Finish scene three and start scene four of Act Two. Answer questions for the purpose of a closer reading for the Junior Cert. Warm –up – A4 pad – write the quote, answer the question “Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast.” (C90) Do you agree with the idea of the quote? What does it mean, beyond people who run too fast trip and fall?

2 Aim for ‘Enter Nurse and Peter.’
Roles: Romeo is arranging the secret ceremony or marriage. Tybalt is making noise as antagonists do. Scene 3: Friar Romeo Scene 4: Mercutio Benvolio Romeo Note to self: Read summary aloud before we start Aim for ‘Enter Nurse and Peter.’

3 Questions – Point, “reference”, explain – due Friday
What is Friar Laurence opinion of Romeo’s attitude to love in scene three? Why does Friar Laurence agree to perform the marriage? Mercutio’s name is like ‘mercurial’ (quickly changing from one state to another) or ‘Mercury’ (a Greek messenger God who was very playful and a trickster). Do these references effectively describe him? Refer to the text in scene four. Benvolio’s name means ‘good will’. Is this appropriate? Refer to the text in scene four.
