3 1. What are goals ? Dreams with deadlines Goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely skills or events that we want to learn or achieve.

4 2. Is this a GED class No, it’s an Adult Basic Education class, level 33. The second class in a series of five that are geared to prepare you to pass the GED math test, and to improve your TABE score so you can move to a higher level class.

5 3. How does CLC place a student in this class?
TABE score

6 Can you eat in this class?
Yes, within reason. Snacks, soft drinks, sandwich, as long as you use paper towels from the washroom and clean up after yourself. If you don’t, you will lose this privilege.

7 How can a student move up to a higher level class?
Attend class for 40 hours, retake the TABE and score at a higher level.

9 7. Can students use computer labs here at CLC?
Yes, CLC has computer labs in the basement of the 1 N. Genesee building that are available during the daytime and at night. You need a student ID card to be able to print, and a CLC address and password to sign in.

At any public library in the state

11 9. What subjects will we be working on in this class?
Math, including basic math, division review, understanding word problems, solving multiple step word problems, learning about place value, rounding, estimation fractions basic geometry, statistics, graphs introduction to per cents (time permitting) Basic pre-algebra Test-taking skills

14 12. When is the teacher here after class to help or answer questions?
Wednesdays 11:20-12:00 , longer, if needed for extra help for students who are in class, on time, complete homework, and want to learn.

19 16. Which days and times do we have class?
Wednesdays, 8am-11:20 pm If you miss more than 30 minutes of class you will be marked absent. If you are absent more than 2 days you will be dropped. No exceptions. Our class only meets 6 times.

Yes, so we can practice what we learn in class.

23 20. Why do you need a CLC e-mail address?
Your CLC address is how the college communicates with you. It is the address that is connected to your roster. It is how I will communicate with you most often. I also use your cell phone, so make sure you let me know if it changes. It is how you gain access to the CLC system, registration, and communication.
