Use both in-house developed codes employing finite element and meshless methodologies, and commercial codes such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, and LSDYNA. Analysis and design of functionally graded rubberlike materials including material and geometric nonlinearities, failure propagation, contact stresses and fluid-structure interaction. Analysis of transient nonlinear coupled multi-physics (thermo-mechanical, electro-mechanical, thermo-elasto-visco-plastic) problems involving large deformations. Molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics simulations of nano-indentation tests, and deformations of carbon nanotubes. Penetration mechanics, and dynamic material failure of monolithic and composite materials/armors/structures incorporating progressive damage. Impact loading of soft tissues. Development of constitutive relations (material models) incorporating material and geometric nonlinearities, synergisms among different fields, and pertinent material symmetries. Development of mathematical models of physical systems and their analyses.
