Microsoft® SharePoint® 2010 Secure Web portals with a centralised eLearning repository, intuitive search collaboration tools, including wikis and blogs, eForms, Excel services and Business Intelligence tools. Setting up shared school Web portals is simple Your Academic Desktop EES licence includes ECAL Suite, which enables all your school PCs and laptops to use all the features of Microsoft SharePoint Server. All you have to do is add the server product. Then you can create school, student, staff and parent web portals that will transform the way your school community collaborates with centralised document management, intuitive search and collaboration tools, such as wikis and blogs. EES makes licensing easy EES lets you choose the deployment model that best suits your institution. Microsoft SharePoint 2010 can be deployed in your own IT data centre, or as a cloud-based solution taking advantage of Microsoft’s high availability and disaster recovery facilities to keep your Web portals secure and available. Or you can combine both approaches. EES provides a simple subscription that covers your open access labs for all products you licence across your organisation, simplifying software management, updates and compliance. With EES you not only simplify the delivery of software applications and desktop lifecycle management, you can also effectively track your software licensing and enforce compliance, with minimal disruption to your day-to-day administration.

Students and staff can collaborate and study where they choose with simple and secure network access. Data on their removable drives and laptops is protected. With Windows Server®, your IT team can manage, update and track applications and devices remotely across all your networked desktops, servers, laptops and mobile devices. Plus define security criteria for computers connecting to your network, blocking any that do not comply. Improve server and application performance across multiple campuses and simplify the complex task of distributing applications and updates. Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager provides centralised controls and easy-to-use tools. Lay the foundation for a connected learning environment with smart management and tight security control across your network with Windows Server® 2008 R2 and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007. ECAL includes licenses for your student and staff devices, so they are ready to connect to the server versions once you deploy them. Create a more productive IT environment with Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Windows Server 2008 R2 Windows® 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 work together to create a secure, reliable and productive IT platform with tools that let your IT staff manage file services, Web access, computers and security remotely across your network. Students and staff can collaborate and study where they choose with DirectAccess – simple and secure remote connectivity to your networked files and resources that doesn’t require a Virtual Private Network (VPN). You can protect data on removable drives and lock information on laptops so that it is more secure. If you have more than one campus on your network, a feature called ‘branchcache’ gives users in that location a much improved experience when using networked applications. Reduce your power consumption and create a more sustainable IT environment with a ‘balanced’ power feature which monitors processors on the server and dynamically matches power to their workload. Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 System Center Configuration Manager helps IT staff simplifies the complex task of distributing applications and updates to desktops, servers, laptops and mobile devices across your education network, with remote management across the Internet. They can see what hardware and software they have, who is using them and where they are, making it easy to track your network assets. Integration with Windows Server 2008 Network Access Protection (NAP) lets you define criteria for security protection for computers connecting to your network and quarantine those that do not comply.

17 How do we Count FTE’s in an EES School Agreement

18 How do we Count Student's in an EES School Agreement
How does Student Option work? By including the Student Option in your EES, you can license selected products and services for use on your students’ personally-owned devices or on organization-owned devices that are individually assigned to a student’s exclusive use (for example, a laptop checked out to a student for the school year). Can I license just a department of students for the Student Option? Yes, if the department is the “organization” entering into the EES. You must license 100 percent of the students enrolled in the department to qualify for Server Option. Do I have to license the same products for my students, staff, and faculty? No. The licensed products you select for students do not have to match your faculty and staff selections.

19 What does Student Option Provide in EES Agreement
When students graduate, can they keep the licensed product on their own devices? . Upon graduation, graduate students licensed under the Student Option may be granted perpetual use rights for the current version of the licensed products as of graduation. “Graduate” means a student has completed (i) a grade or a level in a school or an educational institution that qualifies the student for enrollment into college or university or (ii) a diploma or degree from college or university. To transfer perpetual use rights, you must provide each Graduate with a license agreement and must secure from the Graduate his or her acceptance of the terms of the license agreement. Upon acceptance of the license agreement, the Graduate’s right to run the Products identified in the license confirmation becomes perpetual. These rights do not apply to access licenses, including CALs, or to Online Services
