Read the first paragraph. Choose one of the following three activities to complete: Choose a word you are unsure how to say. Copy it on the bottom of the paper. Chunk it apart. Practice saying it in your mind. Choose a word of which you are unsure of the meaning. Use context clues to write your own definition or synonym above it. Circle six words or short phrases from the paragraph that establish the mood (the feeling the reader is supposed to get) for the paragraph. The first two are screaming, slamming. Then, write a word at the bottom of the page that describes the mood.
