1 Access to education is not a privilege, it is a human right!
March 8th: International Women's Day. Girls and Medical Physics: It is time to prepare them for the future! IOMP women group will celebrate this day discussing the introduction of the young girls to the physics world, especially in medical physics. Join us! Did you know that...? Health sector jobs: 40 million for 2030 (WHO). Fantastic opportunity to include more women in this sector. Medical Physics is an applied field of physics with great future in healthcare! Let’s overcome some old stereotypes and encourage girls to choose STEM from a young age! Role models: talks to students by female medical physicists, attend medical physics excursions, visit female medical physicists in hospitals or labs. Provide them: books and movies that feature strong female characters, medical physics kits that stimulate scientific interest. Show the contribution that medical physics makes to the society and human lives. Social construct: Speak more of what girls are interested in, and capable of. Encourage a growth mindset, stimulate their creativity and capacity for problem-solving, increase their self-confidence. Access to education is not a privilege, it is a human right! Educational work plan: inclusion of girls in the education system, ensuring that they complete their study. IOMP is glad to announce that it will support this noble cause together with other International Organizations.
