13 United Classrooms of TLAM
TLAM has separated itself from the rest of the country and decided to create it’s own Federal Government. It is your task to be a “Founding Student” of the United Classrooms of Twin Lakes Academy! Here is how this new government will be organized… The Main Office = Federal Government/Washington D.C. The Teachers = The State Governments

14 Here is your task… Name FIVE Delegated powers that the Main Office should have in this new government. Name FIVE Reserved powers that the Teachers should have in this new government. Name THREE Concurrent powers that the Main Office and Teachers should share. Name THREE Denied powers that the Main Office and Teachers are not permitted to have. I assume there will be some changes around here! You and your partner will present your UCTLAM proposal to the class on Friday.

15 Activity Reflection Which group do you believe proposed the best UCTLAM Federal Government structure of powers and why did they do the best job? What would TLAM be like if there was no division of power between the main office and teachers? How is that similar to what the U.S. would be like without a division of power between the Federal and State Governments?
