Find a picture that represents how these two ideas work together in American history. Write a reflection from the perspective of an item in the picture and start the reflection with the phrase: “Here’s what you need to know about me:” Have the item explain why it connects to Colonialism/Puritanism.

3 Paine and Franklin Divide this page into two pictures (classification)
Over one picture, write Paine’s argument Over the other, write Franklin’s argument At the bottom, write a 25-word explanation of who you think is right. Start with the phrase, “Paine says Franklin Says But I say . . .”

4 Young Goodman Brown In this box, make a flow chart that explains the story Young Goodman Brown. (see me for further instructions, if you do not know how to do this) It should show: Characters, Conflicts, Archetypes The chart should be sequential (it should move the reader from beginning to end.” At the bottom of the page, write the one sentence from the story that represents the one idea you will remember.

5 I Am America In this box, put a picture and write a reflection on the one symbol that represents America the best (100 words – based on the pictures you looked at) Could be: a physical object, a color, an idea. Start the reflection with “I am America . . .” Then describe how the two things connect. Make an advertisement In this box, examine one part of the American Myth that you understand the best (having done the entire project) Use a picture as background (it could be a picture you looked at or an image that came to your mind when reading) Write a slogan (one line that captures the essence of your thought) across the picture
