4 Call Signs Requirements for transmitting your call sign station ID – every 10 minutes and at the end of your transmission. T1F03 Unidentified transmissions are permitted when transmitting signals to control a model craft. All other unidentified transmissions are prohibited. T1D11 On-air station ID for radio control model using amateur frequencies require a label with: Licensee’s name Call Sign and address Affixed to the transmitter T8C08 The maximum power allowed for controlling your model aircraft on the ham radio is 1 watt. 5 Call Signs Ham radio call signs for the United States begin with the letter A, K, N, or W. They also have a single number 0 through 9. W3ABC, K3DIO, WB5QNG are valid call signs. T1C02 5

6 Call Signs Any licensed amateur can request a vanity call sign. T1C12
K1XXX is an example of a Technician Class licensee vanity call sign T1C05 Special event call signs have a single letter in both the prefix and suffix. 7 Call Signs Use of a phonetic alphabet is encouraged by the FCC when identifying your station when using phone. T2B09 7

8 Call Signs At least 4 persons are required to be members of a club for a club station license to be issued by the FCC. T1F12 Only the person named as trustee on the club station license grant may select a vanity call for the club. T1C14 A Tactical call sign is the type of ID used when identifying an on air station such as ‘Race Headquarters’. T1F01 At a community service net with use of tactical identifiers, your station’s FCC-assigned call sign must be transmitted at the end of each communication and every ten minutes during a communication. 11 Call Signs Amateur operating frequencies are not the same everywhere in the world and vary among the three ITU regions. 12 Call Signs When a non-licensed person speaks to a foreign station using a station under the control of a Technician Class control operator, the foreign station must be one with which the U.S. has a third party agreement. T1F07 FCC rules authorize the transmission of non-emergency communications with any station whose government permits such communications. T1F11 U.S. amateurs are allowed to operate their amateur station in a foreign country when the foreign country authorizes it. T1C04 12
