8 Types of Cells Organisms (living things) can be either multicellular or unicellular. Multicellular means made of many cells. Unicellular means made of one cell. Cells may be either prokaryotic or eukaryotic. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus; eukaryotic cells do have a nucleus.
