17 Testing to Destruction
• Product is tested in controlled conditions (1) • Force is applied until the product breaks(1) • Information is gathered on how much protection is gained (1) • Information is gathered on how much force is needed/limits of force at point of destruction (1) • Information is gathered on how the product behaves/breaks upon breaking Give/State/Name (Red), Describe/Outline(Red and Amber), Explain/Justify (Amber) , Evaluate/Discuss/Compare (Green)

18 Non-Destructive testing
Product is tested in controlled conditions (1) • Force is applied until deformation occurs (1) • Information is gathered on materials and construction (1) • Information is gathered on how the product behaves/deforms/protects under pressure

32 CE Mark The CE Mark is administered by the European Union. By placing the CE mark on products, the manufacturer is warranting that the product meets the minimum EU standards set down for that product. The CE Mark does not mean that a product is safe. It means it has been designed to meet safety standards, for example, if it is a fire, then it has the appropriate fire guard built in, but you must ensure that it is still operating safely.

33 Kite Mark The British Standards Institute (BSI) adminsters a set of standards, often in response to legislation. These can include safety standards. Products which comply with British Standards are marked with the applicable standards number by the manufacturer, for example BS 2645. The BSI can also issue a certificate for certain products. The product can then carry the above KITE MARK.
