23. Surajgarh
The town of Surajgarh derives its name from the 18th century fortified Palace Surajgarh. The name literally means "The Castle of The Sun". Established in 1780 the township of Surajgarh came up with the construction of the fort, for the fort not only offered employment to the people from the neighboring villages, but after its completion also offered a safe sanctuary from marauding bandits and invading armies.

24. The Fort is owned by Tikaraj Aishwarya Katoch, son of the Princess of Jodphut and Maharaja of Kangra and Tikarani Shailija, eldest daughter of the Maharaja of Sailana. Sailana is famed for India's finest cuisine and Tikarani Shailija's grandfather has written a popular cookery book called Maharaja Sailana's Cookery Delights. Surajgarh, which literally translates into Castle of the Rising Sun, has many educational institutes (schools and degree colleges) and thousands of students come from different parts of Rajasthan as well as other states to study in the Shekhawati region. Surajgarh is famed for aak bangles.
