1 Warm-Up #12 (Monday, 9/28) Simplify 3(x+y) +5x -7
Simplify 3(yx+6) +xy +6 Evaluate 5x +6 -x given x= -3

2 Homework (Monday, 9/28) Lesson 2.07 packet

3 Lesson 2.07 Reversing Operations

4 Method for performing food backtracking steps
Make a list of steps, in order, that show how to get form the input variable to the output. You can build a machine diagram or a flowchart to show your steps. Make a list that reverse the order of steps in the first list and shows how to undo each operation. (addition and subtraction undo each other; multiplication and division undo each other) Start with the output. Perform each step on the list of reverse steps to find the value of the input variable.

5 Identify which expression is Reversible or Irreversible
What is the square root of 25 6+y2

6 Interpreting phrases into algebraic expression
Mary takes a number, multiplies it by 3, adds 4, and then subtracts 6. The final answer is 10. What is her number? Kevin takes a number, multiplies it by 12, and then subtracts 9. The final result is -5. What is his number?

7 Activity You will write down two word problem expressions
Your partner will write the expression as a statement of operations, decides if the operations are reversible, and describes the operations that reverse them.
